A quick note to FBC...
THANK YOU to everyone who helped out with Dudefest on Father's Day. Many men, both young and old rededicated their lives to Christ on Sunday. The cars were great and the food was fabulous. A BIG special shout out to Susan Lovallo, Susan Jischke, Laura Speed, Mike Shum, Bob Bierce, the parking lot crew, and all those who brought food. You guys are the best!
This Sunday we will have a unique experience in worship. I'm going to preach this week without using a single word. That's right, not a word! You don't want to miss this. I have a feeling that God has something big in store.
I appreciate everyone who is praying for my sister-in-law Lisa Quillen who had a stroke at the age of 35. That's way to young for a stroke. This week she was able to take about 200 steps with a walker. Please keep praying for her, her husband Channon, and my three precious nephews Seth 8, Luke 6, and Adam 3.
I am really excited about where we are positioned as a church. God has the opportunity to do some big things here if we keep thinking BIG. God is a great God, and his vision for FBC is bigger and greater than any of us can imagine. Only one thing holding us back ... us! Are we going to think little, like a country club taking care of its own. Or are we going to have some BIG audacious goals for organization and reaching our community for Jesus. To be quite honest, I still see and hear some country club thinking. Let's put stinking thinking behind us, and move on to the next level. God has some awesome plans for this place. So put your seat belt on and let's go discover what God is doing and dive in.
Lastly, this is Mary Cay Nilsen's last week in the office with us. What a worker! What a heart for Jesus. Mary Cay you have been a true pleasure to work with each day in the office. We all are so grateful for your HUGE effort in serving the Lord. We're going to miss you as a church, and I'm personally going to miss having your fun spirit around each day. You are the best!
